Racks and assets¶
Model your physical plant: sites → zones → racks → assets.
- Graphical rack views: 24U/36U/42U/45U/47U or custom heights, front/back sides, zoom, image export.
- Drag-and-drop mounting with server-side validation: U-range, overlap, reserved/disabled slots, power and weight budgets.
- Device moves, cross-rack migration, unmounting, PDUs, ports, cables — all with operation logs.
Automated hardware inventory¶
vConfig reuses its backup login framework to collect hardware data from online devices:

Collected: chassis, boards, power supplies, fans and optics down to serial numbers, with port-level in-use/idle status derived from link state. Duplicate serials are detected; summaries show component counts, optics utilization and model distribution. Full CSV export.
Inventory runs on demand (all/selected/single device) or on a daily/weekly/monthly schedule with configurable concurrency.
